Fa Real?

For all the rumored and real hip-hop supergroups, this one might be the strangest I ever remember hearing of.

Mos Def is a name familiar to many, and for anyone who has heard Jay Electronica’s music, that seems like a natural fit. But the third member of the proposed posse tentatively titled Center Edge Theory is the real head scratcher.

Curren$y (formerly known as The Hot Spitta) came into the game as the first artist signed to Weezy F.’s Young Money imprint. Though he had a couple nice guest drops on Wayne’s Dedication 2 mixtape, most of the material I have heard from him has been not only underwhelming, but in a completely different lane than Mos and Jay. And c’mon son: ditch the dollar sign in your rap alias. Shit has been played out since Ma$on Betha went Pastor on us. Needless to say, I was rather hoe-hum about the project… Until I came across this.

If this is any indication of things to come, move this project to near the top of the “Most Anticipated” list.
